CCPC Boundaries

The Collingwood Community Policing Centre is responsible for the following area.
From Boundary Rd. in the East to Nanaimo Street to the West.
Broadway in the North to the Fraser River in the South. These are the old boundaries.The new areas that are covered includeNanaimo to Ontario North of Kingsway. Broadway in the North to Fraser St. and then north to 2nd. Ave. and along 2nd. Ave. to Ontario Ave.

It is a very large area to cover and requires a multitude of solutions.
The Mt. Pleasant Cares Committee was formed in August of 2004 and over 30 volunteers are now doing foot and bike patrol. As well members of that community are cleaning posters from the street poles, keeping the sidewalks clear of litter and reporting to the city any garbage or litter in the back alleys. They also report problem premises to permits and license.
B.C. Housing has been very generous and has provided space at their units on E.58th Ave. Every Friday evening three volunteers assigned, spend time in the office there doing foot patrols and listening to problems in the community.

The area we cover is very large and without the help of volunteers in the community it would be daunting. There are over 225 active volunteers who care about the community and their neighbours and we are grateful to each and everyone of them.
