Speedwatch Program

Speedwatch is a very effective means in reminding drivers of the speed limit in the city. It basically consists of our volunteer teams setting up an electronic radar & display board which shows the speeds of oncoming vehicles. Our volunteer teams will set up on a weekly basis in select areas where speeds are usually higher than normal.

Our CPC will frequently team up with ICBC and the Vancouver Police Department to set up a “2 Strikes Speedwatch” session. During this session, our volunteers will have a speedwatch setup at an initial location as a warning station to slow down. In addition, the VPD traffic squad will be further ahead with their own radar to pull over and issue tickets to those who have continued to speed after the initial setup.
