Block Watch Program

Why you should become a Block Watch captain?

  • It helps you and your neighbours get to know each other.
  • It is free.
  • It shows criminals that your block is closely monitored and can prevent criminal activity.
  • It is a fun program.

What you need to do

  • Find someone else to be a co-captain with you.
  • Go to the local community policing centre for an application.
  • Only the captain and the co-captain need to be checked for criminal records by the local police department.
  • You do not need to put someone into Block Watch that you feel should not be there.
  • Get trained at your local community policing centre.
  • All that is needed is a map of your block that can provided to the police for our records.
  • Go into the local community policing centre for more details.
